Nevada State Route 722 (old US 50) in Smith Creek Valley, looking east. The clump of trees at what looks like the end of the road (actually it's a bend) is a ranch and old highway maintenance station. The broad peak on the skyline to the left of the centerline is Bunker Hill (11,473 ft/3497 m) in the Toiyabe Range (outlined). It's not to be confused with the Bunker Hill in Massachusetts! We had tried (unsuccessfully) to climb it this trip.

The highest (11,447 feet/3498 m) point in the northern Toiyabe Range, Nevada. Yes, it's hardly a "hill"! And no, we didn't make it to the top.
