Off the Tahoe Mountain Road near Fallen Leaf Lake, near South Lake Tahoe, California. A cropped version of an iPhone pic my wife took out the car window to the right. Mama's cub is on the other side of the road (see enclosing pic)--we were glad to be inside the car. You don't want to get between a mother bear and her cub!
