Full (and muddy) from the monsoon runoff. Central Utah, USA.

A small reservoir at the head of Buckhorn Wash in central Utah. It's full (and muddy!) due to the monsoon rains. The insert shows a different view, off to the left, with the dam in the edge of the picture.

Washoe Lake, Washoe Lake State Park, Nevada. It's brimful again this season, due to the "miracle March" storms. This is the first time, in the 30 years we've lived here, that the lake has been completely full two seasons running. We're not complaining! Looking pretty much south. The inset shows a view northwest, toward the (metal) jetty and (stone) breakwater by the boat-launch ramp. They've pulled the jetty up a ways, presumably because it was getting clobbered by wave action. _That's_ another first!

Rye Patch Reservoir in northwest-central Nevada, on the Humboldt River. It filled to the brim with the extraordinary water season last winter, and was still pretty full late in the year. Looks like we're heading back into drought this season, tho-- The left inset looks back at the spillway under the bridge over the dam; the right insets show views farther up the reservoir.,
