Well, yes. _That_ Edsel. The byword for corporate blundering. Apparently, tho, the dismal reputation is not completely deserved. The car had been overhyped before its release, and then there were some annoying quality-control issues in the first production models. But by the time the bugs were worked out, it was too late. Death Valley National Park, California, USA. From a slide of a family trip in 1958. I got a kick out of the parking lot--it looks like a classic car rally, but that's what people really drove then! ;) At this time Scotty's Castle, altho completely surrounded by Death Valley National Monument (as it was then), was still privately owned and administered. The Park Service finally took it over in the 1980s or so.
