In California's Sierra Nevada just north of US 50, about 5 miles west of Echo Summit. Altho it's barely inside the Desolation Wilderness, and you're even supposed to get a day permit to hike to it, its proximity to the main highway means it's _not_ the wilderness experience! It's a pretty falls and creek even so, tho--

On Horsetail Creek, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. One of the many waterfalls in the Gorge that gave the "Cascade" Range its name. Was out of time, alas, to take the trail above this one--
