Havasu Creek, a tributary of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. This was the waterfall in one of the opening scenes in the original Planet of the Apes, with Charlton Heston. The area lies in the Havasupai Reservation; Supai Village, the only permanent settlement in the Grand Canyon, is a few miles upstream. I've heard that a large flood has subsequently rearranged the falls, but I haven't been back in the last 35+ years!

Havasu Creek, Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA. The water is saturated with calcium carbonate, which precipitates as travertine (a freshwater limestone) when agitated. This builds up these curious structures. Colloidal CaCO3 is also responsible for the curious turquoise color to the water.
