In the Desatoya Mountains of central Nevada. Telephoto view off old US 50 (Nevada SR 722). This was a lightning-caused fire in remote country that posed no threat to structures, so (as per the new protocols) was being allowed to burn out naturally. Map position is approximately that of the fire rather than the camera.
