Well, yes. _That_ Edsel. The byword for corporate blundering. Apparently, tho, the dismal reputation is not completely deserved. The car had been overhyped before its release, and then there were some annoying quality-control issues in the first production models. But by the time the bugs were worked out, it was too late. The inset is a close-up of the interpretive sign in the foreground (without the annoying reflection!) National Automobile Museum (Harrah Collection), Reno, Nevada.

Apparently defunct Ford dealership in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The decor, bizarrely, features what look to be Ancient Egyptian and Hopi (a Native American Pueblo tribe) motifs! I have no idea what the backstory is-- UPDATE: Thanks to Diane (see comments below) for the backstory!

The amusement part: note the blue-and-white 1956 Ford wagon! The little boy is yours truly, the girl is my kid sister, and the man is our dad, who quit smoking in 1964. The rephotography part: Note the ruin of the old bank building in the left background (outlined).
