California, USA, formed on the Sacramento River by Shasta Dam. Looking north over the marina at the south end of the lake. The bridge is Interstate 5, crossing the old course of the river. Map location approximate, as usual.

Low water levels in Lake Mead on the Colorado River. The "bathtub ring" showing the high-water mark is obvious! Looking north over the Boulder Basin on the Nevada side. The marina had been moved here a few years back because the cove where it used to be is now dry!
