This hospital was founded in 1428 by Jan Dirc Coenenzoon and his wife Katrijn Willem Tedensdochter. It was intended for poor sick women. Later it also housed the elderly and it functioned partly as an almshouse (until 1969). The hospital part stopped in 1773, It was restored in 1970. It is now a hospice.
