The 25-cents coin is known as a kwartje. The kwartje was used in telephones and vending machines, so the expression "het kwartje is gevallen" (the quarter has dropped) came into being, meaning that some kind of understanding was achieved. Old Dutch coins on the road to the Geldmuseum (Money Museum).
