Also known as the Dutch Concerts station. Hans Idzerda set up the station and it began broadcasting from The Hague in 1919. It is believed to have been Europe’s first sustained broadcasting station and one of the first stations in the world to transmit entertainment. It ended broadcasting in 1924. It was popular not only in the Netherlands, but also in Britain.

Transmitter Teutoburg Forest. FM and digital transmitter in use with the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (West-German Broadcasting). The first transmitter on this spot dates from 1951, but this isn't the original one.

The powerful transmitter 5XX. The transmitting station was closed down in 1992. Used by BBC World Service for years.
