It was built by Conrad in Haarlem, under order of A.J.M. Goudriaan, a shipowner in Rotterdam. It was very luxurious and it was sometimes used by the Dutch royal family. During the Second World War it was confiscated by the Germans and after the war it was sold to the Loodswezen (Pilot Organisation) in Den Helder. It was decommissioned in 1950 and after that the vessel was sold from owner to owner, deteriorating over the years. In 1979 the vessel was bought by Dutch publicist Dick Pels who started the slow restoration. The ship was originally powered by two six-cylinder 100 HP Standard petrol engines, now equiped with two 138 HP DAF 575 turbodiesel engines. Length: 30 m Width: 5 m Tonnage: 70 ton Draft 1.40 m More info and pictures here: www.dickpels.nl/nymphaea.php
