South Korea is officially known as the Republic of Korea, so on the stamps and postmarks it says “Korea”. On the North Korean stamps it says “DPR Korea” or Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

"Yi Jun was one of the most honoured figures in the Korean struggle for independence. He died on 14 July 1907 in The Hague, where he came together with two other Korean delegates to attend the Second Hague Peace Conference. At that time Korea was occupied by Japan and Japan managed to convince the other delegations not to allow Korea to take part in the conference. Yi Jun protested and was found murdered in his hotel on the Wagenstraat (in today’s Chinatown), where there is now a private Peace Museum in his honour."
