The Greek temples with their columns have been an inspiration for many architects. The four ladies remind you of the Porch of the Maidens of the Erechtheion in Athens, Greece.

The Greek architecture was rather simple: heavy stone beams carried by columns. You needed a lot of columns to carry a lot of weight. Once the arch was invented, larger buildings without a lot of columns became possible.
