St Peter’s Church. They started building a stone church in the 13th century. It was enlarged over the years. In 1566 the church became protestant. In 1672 the tower and the roof burnt down because of the French invading forces. The church was restored in 1675. After that no major changes were made. Woerden is a Dutch city, founded by the Romans in 41AD, who built the castellum Laurium on this spot.
