The school dates from 1913, designed by Willem Marinus Dudok. It is still in use as (primary) school. Leiden has a historical centre, but also newer neighbourhoods, built from the beginning of the 20th century to the present.

Primary school

Originally a house for mr. Schimmelpennick, built in 1927, but after the war converted to a school. It still looked like a villa. It has an enormous cellar almost under the entire building. The building has undergone some renovation since I left in 1982.

The building has undergone some renovation since I left in 1982. This sign is from the old building of the school on the Willem Lodewijklaan. That building was destroyed during the war. A small piece of the wall of the old school has been put near the entrance.
