The text on the monument is: "A la memoire de Ter nagedachtenis aan Charles Trepel 1908-1944 Roger Cabanela 1914-1944 Fernand Devillers 1916-1944 Rene Guy 1917-1944 Jean Hagnere 1916-1944 Jacquelin Riviere 1920-1944 Du 1e Bataillon de Fusiliers Marins Commando Français Debarques sur cette plage dans la nuit de 27 au 28 fevrier 1944 et tombes pour la liberté des Pays-Bas. Op dit strand geland in de nacht van 27 op 28 februari 1944 en gevallen voor de vrijheid van Nederland. Zij behoorden tot het Franse 1e Bataillon de Fusiliers Marins Commando." Six French commandos died on the beach in the night of February 27-28, 1944. They died for the freedom of the Netherlands. More info . The monument dates from 1985.
