Rosenburgh started in the 13th century as a castle. It was attacked in 1350 with guns with powder – a first for Holland. It was destroyed in 1573–74 during the Siege of Leiden. In the 18th century there were plans to change it into a country estate, but the plans were not completed as the owner and his son died in short succession. Only this building remains. Rosenburgh is now a cemetery and a petting zoo. This building is a tea room.
