The communists tried to keep Germany unified after the war, so that it could be kept neutral or turned into a communist state. The Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig is part of the Haus der Geschichte, or History House. The Haus der Geschichte is located in Bonn, Berlin and in Leipzig. It is a museum and a collection of the history of Germany.
