The A12 motorway runs from The Hague to the German border at Arnhem. There it becomes the A3 Autobahn, which runs diagonally across Germany to Passau on the Austrian border.

This toll bridge was built in 1651 to facilitate the trade between Woerden and Bodegraven. A little village established itself around the bridge. Nieuwerbrug means new bridge . They claim that they are currently the only toll bridge in the Netherlands. It costs € 0.50 to pass, but I didn't see a bridge master today to collect the toll.

The church of Nieuwerbrug was established in 1917 by a rather strict variety of protestantism. Now all the protestant churches in Holland have united again after a century of schisms, splits and separations.
