On Saturday August 30, 2008 celebrations were held at the station. Two steam locomotives and two old electric ones made their appearance and drove all days between Haarlem and the sea-side town Zandvoort. There were some other old and new trains too.

An old Dutch electric train from 1924 passed Leiden today. The number is C9002, but it is named after Jaap Mol, a employee of the Dutch national railways. Motorrijtuig means motorcar. More info www.c9002.nl (in Dutch, but with lots of pictures, click on "Foto's" on the left)
