See the movie: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDsghrs09UE Haarlem has a beautiful art-deco railway station. It celebrates its 100th year this year. On Saturday August 30, 2008 celebrations were held at the station. Two steam locomotives and two old electric ones made their appearance and drove all days between Haarlem and the sea-side town Zandvoort. There were some other old and new trains too.

These diesels were built in the 1950s, but the streamline design dates from the 1930s. There were electric versions too of this design. The streamline and the speed of the diesels caused quite a stir in the 1930s. Both the trains belong to the foundation HIJSM (Haarlem IJmuidense Spoorweg Maatschappij) .
