The park (Giardini del Frontone) dates from the 18th century and was the first public park in Perugia. A triumphal arch, designed by Baldassare Orsini, was erected in 1790. The church dates from 1271 and was originally a cloister church. In 1541 the Reformation reaches Halle and the bishop Albrecht von Brandenburg takes most of the interior away. In the following years it becomes a protestant church. The famous composers Samuel Scheidt, Heinrich Schütz and George Frederic Handel have played in this church. Handel was church organist in 1702–1703.
