Yaxun B’alam IV of Yaxchilan (now Mexico), also known as Bird Jaguar IV, ruled from 752–768 AD. On this lintel he is depicted after he has made a blood sacrifice by piercing his penis. This lintel was made in 766 AD. The Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde is the Dutch national museum of ethnology. It was established in 1837.
