Dates from 1866, replacing an earlier toll house. Toll was abolished in 1931. Toll was collected for the road from the Hoornbrug to Delft.

The company Mebin had a concrete factory here, now only the crane remains. The area will be developed into a housing project, possibly the crane will remain.

In the olden days people were sent to the galleys as punishment, nowadays people row for pleasure.
