Two more squares for the collaboration afghans in a local group swap--these are for an afghan with a "rose garden" theme.

We're in the International Postcard Swap for Families 2011, organized by Zoe Toft of the blog "Playing By the Book": www.playingbythebook.net/2011-international-postcard-swap... We made our postcards from recycled boxes (like cereal boxes, cookie boxes, cracker boxes); all the images are historical photos of women and children, and all are from Flickr Commons (see below). The painted backgrounds are by me, the sharpie marker parts are by both me and my daughter. There's also some rubber stamping and inking. These are for Oh Fransson's fat quarters vintage linens swap. There are four of the paisley, which was from yardage I got at a church rummage years ago. There are two of the tan/purple/blue/gold floral in the middle (Royal Cannon 50/50 pillowcase), and two of the yellow/orange/green tulip print at the bottom (IKEA pillowcase).

This is made from a thrifted sheet, with the addition of little fabric flowers in pink, red, and cream hand-sewed along the edge of the hem. The rest of this sheet is in Lisa C.'s swap. Sorry, the other parts don't have this fun edge!

The turquoise, pink, and paisley sheet pieces here arrived in the mail from Lisa's swap--can't wait to make skirts from them. The large brown-beige sheet in the lower left is one I thrifted while waiting for the swap to finish--because Lisa's created a monster here. But that'll make an interesting skirt too, no?
