Pandemic quilting: Color for Chloe

09 Mar 2025 2 1 16
Made another small quilt, this one for a cousin; she requested "something colorful". Some of the fabric and thread is from our shared ancestral stash, including the vintage 70s print border. I bought nothing for this quilt; even the batting was free, from a neighbor via BuyNothing.

Pandemic crochet: More hexagons

I made another hexagon blanket from acrylic yarns in various shades of purple, teal, and green. With pink shapes along the center, like flowers floating in a stream.

Crocheted hat

In my post-Halloween crochet, I'm using up a lot of colorful scraps. This double-stranded hat used up a lot of random bits of cotton. Daughter immediately claimed it.

Haekelbeutel 2

Crocheted for myself from squares leftover from a baby blanket project. It's big, but it's comfortable. The pattern is free as a PDF: www.stricksucht.de/anleitungen/crochetedbag.pdf The lining, I made from a tutorial I saw on Ravelry.

Crocheted hat with tentacles

Made for one of my daughter's friends, by request. I actually made two of them, so they can both have one. ;) Lots of random scrap acrylics and novelty yarns.

Freeform Crochet Bag

03 Sep 2011 184
The paisley shapes started out as the nuclei of some squares for a collaborative afghan, but they wouldn't stay in the margins (just like a paisley!), and they kept growing until they looked ready to be a bag. All thrifted yarns, all acrylic worsted, except some metallic accents, and some beads, and some buttons.... lined with most of an old black jersey t-shirt. I know it looks wonky, but I like it anyway.
