Made for a friend (so they're her old shoes, repainted)--used to be black clogs, now they're blue, purple and turquoise, with a photo of Welsh poet and navigation teacher Sarah Jane Rees (aka Cranogwen; 1839-1916), from the National Library of Wales uploads to Flickr Commons (see below).

I found some red Dansko shoes in my size, great condition, for $5 at a thriftshop. Just a little scuffed up, maybe, and I already have plenty of red shoes, so.... My first pair of Flickr Commons shoes. Upcycled with gesso, acrylic paints, modpodge, paper collage, sharpies, krylon, using the same techniques as my purses. Maiden voyage of my May Bradford shoes was today, walked a kid to school in them. They worked for me, and they survived just fine. ;)

My trusty old black Doc Martens MJs were scuffed badly, but otherwise wonderful. Solved with an upgrade of paint, collage, and sharpies. Image of English suffragette Christabel Pankhurst from the Library of Commons uploads to Flickr Commons (see below).

Score at the thriftshop last month--current LA designer, in excellent shape and in my size. $4. And I wear them a lot.

I got the striped socks and the new Doc Martens MJs for my birthday. *happy sigh*

Found these in my size, nearly new, in a thriftshop--but they were missing one of the toggles. For less than $2, I replaced both toggles, and had a fun pair of red shoes.

Got these for myself on Mother's Day--Converse makes maryjanes? Well, yes in fact they do. And mine are cocoa brown with a bronze scalloped trim, and all kinds of comfortable.
