"Receptacle" is a sculpture by Joyce Dallal, a container in the shape of a giant baby, filled with donated broken toys which cannot otherwise be recycled or donated. It's now on view at the Manhattan Beach Cultural Arts Center, and the gallery is accepting more toy donations for the work. We brought in a box today. This is the artist's statement.

The favorite memory drawings were rolled up and put in individual tubes, and the kids were invited to choose a place to put their tube in the defined field. The project was conceived by Ismael de Anda for Target's "Monumental Monday" free holiday event at the museum. Yes, those are clouds in Los Angeles....
