John Oram's photos with the keyword: Roundhouse

This wonderful mural by the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra is on the Regents Park Road wall of The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm and was completed in 2011. I am not absolutely sure about the name of the work as it is not widely referenced other than by the artist's name. The Roundhouse itself was completed in 1847 and had a surprisingly short career of only ten years for its original purpose being subsequently put to a number of uses, including as a warehouse, before its conversion (and later upgrade) to the performance space of today. Although it was the locomotive in the piece which caught my eye, no such locomotive would ever have seen the inside of a roundhouse designed for the much smaller engines prevalent at the infancy of railways.
