The opening of Wien Hauptbahnhof, which became fully operational only in December 2015 (partial operations had commenced in December 2012), marked a massive reorganisation of public transport within and through Vienna. The main entrance leads to a light, airy, clean and well-signposted circulating area which accommodates, of course, ticket and information offices and some shops. Most of the platforms are above street level. The S-Bahn station (formerly Sudtiroler Platz) houses platforms 1 & 2 below street level. 200_3_P1070749CE
