The sun was just above the mountain when Flabob Express DC-3 N103NA joined left hand downwind for 31L at Palm Springs. I watched it roll out and taxy to the Palm Springs Air Museum - a leading example of its kind in the US - and then drove round the airport to photograph it in fading light. This angle, a parting shot from my ramp visit, makes the best use of the soothing early evening light as the aircraft receives some loving attention. 200_3_P1120019R

Douglas C-53C Skytrooper OH-LCH at Helsinki-Malmi. In one of those delightful threads that runs through some lives, I saw this beautifully maintained aircraft a little over two years after I first photographed it (rather poorly) as it departed Lee on Solent on 4 June 2014 as part of the 70th anniversary commemorations of D-Day. 200_2_P1120700
