The Marcus Rashford mural in Moorfield Street, Withington was created by artist Akse P19. Following the loss by England to Italy in the final of Euro 2020, which was held in 2021 due to the pandemic, the mural was vandalised. Rashford was one of three England players who missed penalties in the loss. The reaction to the graffiti was to cover it with messages of support for the footballer. Subsequently, on Tuesday 13 July, with the messages moved to the sides and more being posted, the artist restored the mural to the accompaniment of much media and public interest. 200_4_P1020209EM
