Eight hundred years separate the construction of Castle Cornet and the P&O Azura which was visiting St Peter Port, Guernsey. This seemed to make the subjects ideal for the latest in my occasional series which depicts cruise ships in close contact with their surroundings. As you might imagine, a telephoto lens adds somewhat to the effect for this image. 200_2_P1040938C

P&O Azura anchored off St Peter Port, Guernsey. The ship was operating a three night cruise, had arrived from Southampton and would leave for Zeebrugge. St Peter Port is a tendering port for vessels of this size and one of the ship's tenders can be seen in the shot. 200_2_P1040945C
