On New Years Day 2020, The Provincial Society operated an Ale & Ride event from Gosport and Fareham Bus Stations using a number of preserved vehicles. By around 11am, three buses had arrived at Gosport. From l-r are Provincial Leyland National 2 A301KJT, Portsmouth City Transport Leyland Titan PD2 112/ORV989 and the unique Wadham Stringer bodied ACE Cougar H523CTR, formerly no. 3 of People's Provincial. I think this line up rather conters the pejorative 'like the back of a bus' but I don't think the grim setting of Gosport's shabby bus station has changed much - except to deteriorate - since People's Provincial actually operated.
