A couple of geese sitting peacefully at the gate to a field of cattle at Northney Farm, Hayling Island. They seemed little perturbed by the traffic on the moderately busy road. 200_3_P1070391CE

The Hayling Billy Lament (3) - 3 November 2013

03 Nov 2013 183
The weekend of 2 & 3 November 2013 saw the 50th anniversary of the closure of the Hayling Island branch (which also took place on a weekend). Events to mark this anniversary had fallen rather flat with the failure to bring a Terrier to the mainland from the Isle of Wight and the late cancellation of the running of two locomotives at the K&ESR but the Hayling Seaside Railway fulfilled its plans to run summer guest 'Wendy' on its weekend trains. My photographs were taken at Eastoke Corner and clearly show her 'The Hayling Billy Lament' headboard. In this view, 'Wendy' departs with the 1120 to Beachlands. P1190031
