One would hardly have expected a humble sign to generate so many photographs but one of my self-appointed roles is to record the minutiae of what goes on around Lee on Solent and Daedalus in particular. Following the vandalism documented in my picture of 7 August 2019 , Fareham Borough Council (FBC), led by Councillor Sean Woodward, acted swiftly and decisively. The remaining letters were removed, a potentially more robust solution decided upon and new letters ordered. The verge in front of the sign has also been tidied and all of this reflects the pride in its responsibilities shown by FBC. Only a few hundred metres further north, at the junction of Broom Way and Spitfire Way, a similar sign is being constructed for the Faraday Business Park. I hope it is shown more respect than the airport sign and that the continuing efforts of FBC are appreciated. 200_3_P1110205C
