T2 Tails (2) - 9 March 2019

10 Mar 2019 156
Also very much a record shot, this picture poses the silent question 'what will the future look like?' It is only 11 years since the first arrival at Heathrow of a Singapore Airlines A380 marked a new future now curtailed by the announcement of the end of production of the type. It was the same airline which withdrew from service its first A380 (9V-SKA) only ten years after delivery. A later aircraft is seen here with a Thai Airways example at Heathrow's Terminal 2. What will my photographs of ten years time look like? TZ30_P1050496CE

A Cotswold Airport Snapshot - 14 September 2017

The scene at Cotswold Airport changes steadily over the months and is well worth periodic visits. To me it is at the same time fascinating for photographs and a shameful reflection on one aspect of the aviation world and its role in our throwaway society. Admittedly, a large part of the activity is parting out for re-use but it is shocking to see relatively modern aircraft discarded from use. In this view are (from camera) ex Air Atlanta Icelandic B747-400 TF-AAE in Saudia colours, Air France A340-300 F-GLZH, Thai Airways B777-200 HS-TJF (also marked N176GT) and another Thai B777-200 (believed to be N175GT). 200_3_P1030040
