Fareham has fared better than some other south of England locations such as Havant but still displays the scars of retail evolution. A particular feature of that evolution has been the sharing of properties by different businesses. The Fareham branch of Argos closed about one year ago and moved to a Sainsbury's at Broadcut on the edge of the town.
