This is not the best photograph you will see today but it is, I hope, of interest. I happened to have my front door open and a camera nearby when this pair transited the Lee on Solent area at approximately 1510hrs on 17 December 2018. I pushed the bridge camera and my humble editing skills hard to get even this shot. Multiple posts on the Facebook group EGHF - Lee on Solent followed and it was reported there that the Chinook was taking the Sea King from HMS Sultan to Marchwood to be delivered to Norway. This was later confirmed on Forces News, also on Facebook. Helicopter transits of the Lee on Solent area are common with HMS Sultan and Fleetlands nearby and HM Coastguard based at Solent Airport. The built up area makes it difficult to identify the direction from which sounds are coming and visually acquire the source. On this occasion an addtional factor was that the usually familiar Chinook sound was much modified presumably by virtue of carrrying a heavy, underslung load. Geotagging approximate. 200_3_P1090076E
