The Remains of Hangar 1
The site of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum was once occupied by the ultimately short-lived Naval Air Station Richmond.
The concrete structures supported the wooden truss arches of Hangar 1, one of three enormous hangars on the site, and have a strange beauty of their own today, better shown in some of the other pictures in my Gold Coast Railroad Museum album where they form attractive frames for two preserved Metromover cars.

The Remains of Hangar 1
The site of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum was once occupied by the ultimately short-lived Naval Air Station Richmond, the name of which can be seen above the green doors towards the centre of this picture although I am not sure of the authenticity of that sign.
The concrete structures supported the wooden truss arches of Hangar 1, one of three enormous hangars on the site, and have a strange beauty of their own today, better shown in some of the other pictures in my Gold Coast Railroad Museum album. As noted, they form attractive frames for the two preserved Metromover cars.

Context and History
The excellent Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami is on the site of the former Naval Air Station Richmond. This plaque explains the brief history of the site which is, itself, absolutely fascinating and worth looking at in addition to the railroad exhibits.
