The 2018 scrapping on site of sister (or aunt) craft 'The Princess Margaret' left 'The Princess Anne', the centrepiece of the Hovercraft Museum collection, as the sole surviving SRN4. The decision on scrapping was intended to release resource and funding for the restoration of 'The Princess Anne'. This view shows the parts which have been repainted but by no means all of the machine has received attention - perhaps, in part, because of the pandemic - and there is a lot of work to do. 200_4_P1000112CE

New to the Hovercraft Museum since my last visit, BHC AP1-88 'Falcon' was donated by Swedish company Hoverline arriving at the Lee on Solent site in 2019. The machine finds itself close to its birthplace having been built in East Cowes in 1991. 200_4_P1000110E

Hawker Hunter WV381 entered service with the Royal Air Force as an F.4 but was later converted to a GA.11 for the Royal Navy. It was in Navy service that the aircraft left the then RNAS via the fence, crossing the road to end up in the sea after the pilot had ejected in response to an ASI failure. The nose section was stored and then restored at RAF Benson before later arriving at the Hovercraft Museum, Lee on Solent where it is displayed only yards from the site of its 1972 accident. 200_4_P1000107E
