Tiffins & Thalis, 24 West Street, Fareham was a bold but, ultimately, short-lived venture. Opening after Christmas 2017, it replaced the Indian buffet restaurant Cafe Tusk, offering a table menu of a similar concept to that used by the small Masala Zone chain in London. Unfortunately, Fareham is not Islington and the restaurant, which served excellent food, appeared to struggle for custom. In the year which followed there were various adjustments to the menu and opening hours and, latterly, a buffet option was reintroduced. However, by early January 2019 Tiffins & Thalis had closed. I note from the To Let signs that other uses are being considered although the property is intended to be let as a restaurant. 200_3_P1090551CE

Tiffins & Thalis is a new arrival in a familiar location at 24 West Street, Fareham. The long established Cafe Tusk ceased trading earlier this year and the new owners had hoped to open before Christmas. However, on Christmas Day, signs in the windows were still advertising 'opening soon' and inviting applications for a variety of posts. 200_3_P1040096CE
