Zany Zebras is a large scale public art event organised by Marwell Zoo and held in and around Southampton from 16 July to 25 September 2016. I have already brought 'Before Zany Zebras' and 'Zany Zebras On Parade' to this site and my extensive coverage of the event continues now with pictures from the main event. My work aims to celebrate the hard work and talent of the artists, schools, colleges and other bodies who created the zebras as well as raising awareness of the event. To achieve this I shall post full figure shots, portraits, some shots which are slightly zany in their own right and some pictures of the zebras in the city landscape. Zebra Name - Ticket to Ride (Trail Map no. 25) Location - Vincent Walk/Pound Tree Road Sponsor - First Hampshire Artist - Cara Sandys Ticket to Ride was, as it turned out, the most ill-fated of the zebras. It was vandalised and stolen and found, much later, in the Itchen. As the end of the public display period approached, it was still being restored and, on my last visit to Southampton for the event, had not reached The Marlands like the other zebras which had been vandalised and repaired.
