Only recently did I learn of the former existence of the Bishop's Waltham Branch Line which ran from nearby Botley. For this enlightenment, I am indebted to Mark Williams for his post to the Facebook group 'Disused Railways'. The northern part of the former line, for 1 km south from the Corhampton Road roundabout in Bishop's Waltham, is managed by Hampshire County Council as a Local Nature Reserve.
