The Veronica Sunbay (originally Sun Bay) was erected in 1934 on Napier's Marine Parade to commemorate the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. The memorial is named in honour of HMS Veronica and the outstanding service given by her officers and crew at the time of the disaster. This is view from the memorial. 200_2_P1030755
