Höegh Osaka update (5) - 13 January 2015

14 Jan 2015 145
The vehicle carrier 'Höegh Osaka' which had gone aground on Bramble Bank on 3 January 2015, refloated on 7 January and was towed about 2nm east of its previous position to East Cowes. Operations began to pump out water and tugs were attached but persistent bad weather and strong winds in particular delayed plans to tow the vessel to Portsmouth. She was still off Cowes on 13 January where she was seen in sunshine during a short break in the continuing bad weather. This view is from Lee on Solent. Note: the Höegh Osaka was towed to Southampton (not Portsmouth as originally planned) on Thursday 22 January after successful attempts to reduce her list. 200_2_P1020436C
