High Street, Gosport is a scene of some desolation these days with retail space hard to let as documented periodically in my photostream. A glimpse of a more vibrant past can be seen towards the east end of High Street in the form of this plaque marking the site of the former India Arms Inn. The area was once densely populated and served by numerous inns and taverns (at least 61 according to one source). 200_2_P1020158
