Natural Habitat - 9 May 2016

Now a familiar sight at Eastleigh, the Arlington Fleet Group Ruston & Hornsby shunter 01508 in its natural habitat. Presumably, within the confines of the Works, it is safe to 'leave the keys in' as it was ticking over quite noisily whilst waiting for its next task. 200_2_P1100544

In this gritty scene from Eastleigh Works, piles of sleepers accompany Colas Rail Class 66 66846 and the Arlington Fleet Group shunter 01508. 200_2_P1100546

Arlington Shunter - 27 January 2015

Beautifully reconditioned since its arrival at Eastleigh, the Arlington Fleet Group 0-6-0 Ruston & Hornsby shunter now numbered (again) 01508 is seen with one of the Group's immaculate barrier coaches. 200_2_P1020689

Arlington Fleet Barrier Coach - 29 November 2014

30 Nov 2014 1 282
Eastleigh Works emerged from the shadows of seemingly irreversible railway contraction to become a new attraction for the enthusiast and photographer. On many days of the year, there is a huge variety of stock and locomotives to be seen and I am now used and resigned to making the best use of a long lens to capture the changing scene as well as today's lack of access allows. Direct sunlight did not particularly help the exposure for this shot of Arlington Fleet Barrier Coach 64664 'James D Rowlands'. Just in shot is another vehicle from set T7, 64707 'Sir David Rowlands' and, in the background is Class 08 08790 'Steve Purser'. 200_2_P1020006
